Editor's Note: A group of HBF members who live in and around Clinton, Mo, have been meeting in a Bible study to pray and study the possibility of starting a church in Clinton. Travis and Jessica LaFarge are among those involved. Travis agreed to answer a few questions about what God is doing in Clinton.

Q. How would you describe the Clinton seed/church plant? Why is God leading you and your family in this direction at this time.

A. God has really been doing a great work. The Clinton seed plant has been named New Life Bible Study. We meet on the west side of the historic downtown Clinton square every Wednesday night from 6:30-8 p.m., at a wonderful little coffee shop named Chels Cakes & Cafe. We have more than 15 people that meet regularly. We have had 10 or so different visitors some of which return once in awhile, and two of which come faithfully every week. Praise God!

Tom Feurt initially took on the task of preparing us and training us up to begin this endeavor until The Lord would call someone to lead us.

We have just recently had Brad Mcguire step out in faith, being led of The Lord to lead us in this as a church plant. We are excited to see where God will have us in the near future, Lord willing.

Q. What can members of the church specifically be praying for about this?

A. Prayers are being answered!! Pray for obedience, that God can freely work in and through us. Pray for souls in Clinton to respond to the Gospel and be discipled. We may soon outgrow Michele's coffee shop, so pray for a building to meet in. Also, Please pray for how the Lord might have you to be involved.

Q. How did the idea of a possible seed/church plant in Clinton come about?

A. HBF's vision and goal is to take the Word to the world and invest it in people. Mt 28:19 I would say this is just that. It also helps that God has already planted more than 10 people at HBF now from the Clinton/Henry county area.

Q. Anything else you want newsletter readers to know?

A. We believe time is short. People need the hope and truth of the Gospel. Our heart is really focused on evangelism and to make disciples. We are really excited to bring personal discipleship here to Clinton and to give people the opportunity to grow their Christian walk in missions,  discipling  others, and even Heartland's Bible institute. We are also excited to get involved with the community here to help Clinton stay a great place to live.
