Because God loves us he gave the ultimate to redeem us. We live in the hope of eternal life knowing that one day we will experience eternity in the presence of the Lord. Until that time our giving to him is the express desire to give to him because he first gave to us.
1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
Our spirituality cannot be separated from our generosity and we know that there are needs in our community and in the world that are impossible to ignore. The love of our Lord Jesus Christ compels us to give and to commit ourselves to generosity. The scriptures say that God loves a cheerful giver, not because the church's needs are met, but because God's heart is made glad when we depend on him to provide for us.
