Vacation Bible School is still a few months away, but you can get involved now in helping to prepare the church for Time Lab 2018. Last month we asked everyone to pray about how you could be involved in making VBS a success so that our children will learn that Jesus is God throughout time. Now we would like you to sign up to help. Here are some ways that you can help get ready to blast off with Time Lab! Click on the volunteer tab on the website to help out.

The first steps in getting ready for Time Lab 2018 start with getting committed volunteers to help with the many aspects of planning and preparing for the big week. Of course, we also have lots of ways that you can help during the week too. Volunteers are the energy source for VBS. They turn a time lab into reality so that our kids can travel back to creation and out to eternity to see who Jesus is, what he has done, how much he loves them and how they can have the assurance of salvation to be with God in heaven for all of eternity. Volunteers work to design and transform the church into our very own time lab where games, crafts, snacks, powerful signing, memory verses, and bible stories comes to life.

You can volunteer to help in the following areas.

Preparation:

  • Develop ideas that can turn the church into a fun experience for the kids. These ideas welcome help others to plan the welcome center, sanctuary, hallways, and classroom stations
  • Construction team members put the designs together
  • Painting teams bring the designs together with exciting colors and help with banners, signs, and posters
  • Preparing craft and science project supplies
  • Supplies lists will be sent out later but everyone can help when the time comes to bring the week to life
  • Support the costs of VBS by donating to help defray the costs associated with VBS

In the weeks leading up to the VBS, we will be building scenes for the lobby the hallways and the classrooms. It will take a few weeks of working a few hours each week and then the Sunday before VBS starts we'll need to set it all up and transform the building into a time lab.

VBS Week

  • Be a Time Keeper - Time Keepers lead teams of Time Travelers (the children) on daily adventures as they rotate between stations
  • Be a Scientist - Scientists (teachers) coordinate the teaching time in the Simulation Station experience bringing the bible stories to life
  • Be a Photographer - Capturing the fun and excitement of the week and also taking memory pictures of every child in a framed holder
  • Be a lab Assistant - Help the Scientists and coordinators at the rotation stations
