It goes without saying that technology has touched every person at some level these days. Whether its cable TV, wireless internet, smart cars, phones, or even (for some) our homes, we have come to rely on technology. One of the components of technology that Heartland Baptist Fellowship uses is a software program from a company called Shelby Systems. They are a Christian-based company that got its start when a man wrote a program to help his church track its members’ giving. It has grown many times over in the ensuing years and is now a part of hundreds if not thousands of churches large and small across the country. For HBF, our primary need for the software is for keeping track of the finances of the church. Every members’ giving (for anything) and every check that is written passes through the Shelby software system. In fact, HBF has been using Shelby software now for about nine years.
About two years ago, Shelby offered a new level of software that has helped HBF tremendously. It is called ShelbyNext, and is a package of software components that integrate much of what had been tracked by other software, on paper, or just wasn’t tracked at all. The financial piece of ShelbyNext now integrates with online giving, registration of events, attendance, and helps in the taking of attendance in classrooms and the main services as well as so much more. It also gives every member access to the entire church directory, up to date giving records, access to electronic giving, and updating of personal information. It is secure and easy to access via the church website at www.hbfcass.org and clicking on the MyShelbyNext button at the top center of the homepage or on your phone or tablet with the ShelbyNext app for iPhone or Android. You can also access ShelbyNext from your browser on your laptop or PC.
Logging into the ShelbyNext app or website is easy to do, all you need is a few pieces of information and you’re all set. Here is a short video that walks you through the process Welcome to ShelbyNext. The information you need to log into the phone or tablet app is the domain name. that is hbfcass. You don’t need to put anything else in that field. Then you will need your name and in almost every case there is a period between your first and last name. Lastly you’ll need your password. Since most people don’t remember or know their password it is simple to click “forgot password” and a link will be sent to you to create a new password.
