Editor's note: The story here is the testimony from a HBF member who has come through the Life Issues Ministry.
Hello. I have been a member of HBF for three years and been attending Life Issues Recovery Ministry for the last two years. It is truly astonishing to know so many people in Cass County alone who are struggling with the many different forms of addiction.
Thankfully, we comfort in knowing no one has to remain the servant of sin, because the finished work of Jesus Christ makes us free indeed. My heart is in Life Issues because I have personally seen so many souls saved and lives transformed by our heavenly Father.
The devil’s plan for our life is to steal, kill, and destroy us, and he accomplishes all of these things through addiction and habitual sin. Because of the side effects of addiction, many of our students have legal struggles and have been incarcerated. God gave me a burden for the women who are incarcerated at the Cass County Jail. I joined the Prisoners of Hope team last year. We teach the ladies that they have hope and truth only in Jesus Christ. I know what it is like to have my soul in prison, and only Jesus brought me out of that pit for me to praise His name (Psalms 142:7).
If you are interested in putting your hands to the plow for the Kingdom of God, I recommend you join either of these teams. It has been so impactful for me to see God working in the lives of our students, leaders, and inmates at the jail. There are so many broken souls who need the saving grace of our Lord and Savior. As Jesus said, the harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; please, be in prayer that God’s people will answer the call to their lives and use their spiritual gifts to minister where God wants them.
