HBF was blessed to host Dr. Doug Carragher January 14-16, 2022. Doug is the founder and President of Wounded Spirits Ministries. Doug hosts workshops and retreats all across the United States for those suffering from PTSD.

Doug is a retired Seargent Major in the United States Army with first hand knowledge of what it is like to suffer from the effects of PTSD. When Doug served in the military an incident that occurred with the death of his close friend and spiritual mentor occurred which brought in the symptoms that are now identified as PTSD.  Doug has served as a Pastor and Director  of Armed Forces Baptist Missions. In his ministry to the saints, military and first responders, God pressed it upon Doug's heart to focus on PTSD ministry as a way to engage many suffering souls with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Above all things Doug desires to share the gospel and the PTSD ministry is a very effective way to offer real hope to people who often feel hopeless.

Doug joined our Life Issues ministry on Friday evening January 14th and saw 4 professions of faith. On Saturday, despite the bitter cold and snow HBF hosted a PTSD workshop open to pastors, law enforcement, the community and our local church. Doug did a wonderful job of teaching us about the trauma, triggers and transition of PTSD. On Sunday , after presentation of the Wounded Spirits Minustry, Doug preached a wonderful message from Revelation 5-6 on the access we have to the throne and the ability of Christ to justly deal with the sin and injustice that occurs in this world and our lives. He concluded with an admonition to give our lives to Christ because Jesus is worthy.

Doug's visit was fruitful! We saw God save fiur souls and we added one student to our Bible Institute (Heartland Bible Institute).

Heartlabd Baprist Fellowship is home to our own PTSD ministry trained and sanctioned by Wounded Soirits ministries. Our ministry is called Cass County Wounded Spirits and can be found at the same address in the web.

if you or someone you know is suffering from the effects of PTSD, please feel free to contact us or Wounded Spirits ministries.
