And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18

Last year Pastor Mike Reneau, sold all and moved his family to Boston Massachusetts to establish Living Faith Boston. In the midst of a pandemic he launched with great fanfare from his sending church at Midtown Baptist Temple. I can still recall seeing (on Facebook) the well-wishers lined up for miles through his neighborhood as they drove away from their Independence neighborhood to strike out by faith to establish a Bible Believing Local New Testament church in Boston. A year later, God has blessed in a mighty way! God has provided a great team around the Reneau’s and fruit from the field as the Lord adds souls one by one through the work of evangelism and multiplies this miraculous work through the supernatural growth process the bible calls "discipleship".

As I write this article, I'm sitting in the basement of a brownstone apartment in Boston, reflecting on all the things that have transpired the past week. Coming off a great Sunday evening worship service with six guests not including our team from Heartland Baptist Fellowship (HBF), we wrapped up our evening with one last divine appointment for the evening at the local Chipotle as Brady Barnes and Chris Coen witnessed to a young man working through the difficulty of late-night rush with a malfunctioning computer ordering system. The young man's name is Jason. If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus, I would ask that you pray for him as I gave his number to Pastor Mike and he just confirmed they are on for coffee next week. Another miraculous divine appointment on this journey to one of the top 25 cities on the planet.

HBF sent a small team led by Chris Coen last week to help out with evangelism this week. From the moment we hit the ground we were busy doing the work of ministry. Pastor Mike arranged for us to arrive the same week as freshman college students along with upper classmen and graduate students were arriving to get set up in their college dorms and apartments. It was a perfect storm as Living Faith Boston meets in key location on the Southeast Corner of Boston University campus. Within a few mile radius Living Faith Boston has the opportunity to reach out to several campuses including Northeastern University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Boston College among others.     All the transient students along with the large, condensed population of Boston allowed God to provide many opportunities to make friends, distribute invitations, take survey's and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Many first and second touches were made through the week culminating in six guests attending the Sunday Evening Service.

Throughout the week, we had several conversations with people from all over the nation and the world that we trust will aid in the Holy Ghost directing souls into the Kingdom of God and discipled for God's glory. One young man we connected with attended a church in the community for the first time and loved it! We were hoping he would attend LFB but we are thankful God is getting the increase and the Kingdom of God is being established in the hearts of souls who have trusted the gospel of Christ. It will be amazing to see how God prospers this amazing church plant in the midst of a great city with a great gospel that will resonate through eternity with fruit, much fruit and fruit that remains.
