Baby Dedication

This year, we had 5 families participate in our annual baby dedication, the Herdons, the Jerreds, the Shipleys, the Taboras, and the Van Niekerks.

The purpose of the baby dedication is not to dedicate the child, but more accurately it is to challenge the parents to dedicate themselves to raise their child in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. It is a public acknowledgement before their church family that they will follow the Lord with their lives and that they will raise their child to follow the Lord as well.

It is a special time where parents come before the church to be recognized as new parents who have blessed by God with a child. The church body is able to rejoice with them and the new life. They are given a charge from Pastor Brian Hedges from scripture and then prayed over. It is a time of celebration and excitement for the families involved and the whole body at Heartland!
