Shield Ceremony

It is hard to believe that it's that time of the year again. Each year in mid-June, we have Promotion Sunday many children in our Kingdom Seekers ministry move up to the next class based on their age. An especially important promotion occurs when those who have finished the 5th grade promote up into our YouGro ministry for 6th-12th graders.

It is at this time that Kingdom Seekers ministry head, Mitch Newland recognizes these students in our Shield Ceremony. During this ceremony, he gives each of them a charge to guard to their hearts from the attacks of the world. To illustrate this charge, he provides them with a wooden shield with the ministry logo as well as a verse and a portion of a poem encouraging the students to trust in the true shield, Jesus Christ.

This year, we had Lincoln Fleshman, Ethan Larcom, Levi Pugh, Adalyn Lavergne, Kash Deshazer, and Charlie Kellogg participate in the ceremony and we are excited to see what God will do in their lives as they join YouGro!
