“For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.” Romans 1:11, 12

Paul’s reason for wanting to see the people in the churches in Rome, was to impart unto them some spiritual gift, to the end / with the objective of them being established in their faith, that is in Christ. The process of being established is called discipleship, and it is a journey. As the pastor of this class, my goal is also to see our attendees established in their faith, understanding that I must give account for the souls that I watch over (Hebrews 13:17), and will one day present them before our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. When Paul wrote to the church in Colosse, he communicated what church leadership must do, in order to present every man perfect: preach, warn, teach, and labour, so that’s the discipleship pattern I follow in The Journey class, Steve…

“Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.” Colossians 1:28, 29
