Providing hope to those who are familiar with hopelessness …

The Prisoners of Hope team works inside local jails providing counsel, Bible study, and help for those in need.

The Prisoner’s of Hope mission is to “Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them…” (Hebrews 13:3a).

Goal #1 – Make disciples of those incarcerated, as partial fulfillment of God’s mission.

Goal #2 – Equip the saints of God at Heartland Baptist Fellowship in the Word of God, through ministering to those who are incarcerated.

Goal #3 – Unite the authority of God’s Word with the Cass County authorities in bringing about change and reformation in the lives of those incarcerated.

The ministry is always looking for people who are willing to provide non-monetary help to ex-offenders who are connected with HBF, as well as people who are willing to correspond with those who are incarcerated.

We strive to emphasize the following in this ministry:

  1. There can be no true correction without Christ.
  2. All of us are just one or two bad decisions away from being incarcerated.
  3. God loves everyone just the way they are, but he loves us too much to let us stay that way.
  4. No one is bad enough that they cannot be saved, and no one is good enough that they don’t need to be saved.

Each Sunday from 1:30pm to 4:00pm, the men and women of Prisoners of Hope visit men and women who are considered by many to be unworthy of a helping hand, a loving, smile, a shoulder to lean on.

If you have ever had the desire to share your faith with another person, this is a great ministry to get involved with. Contact Mark Shipley for further information.
