On Friday August 30th, 2019 Life Issues will be hosting our 7th annual 4.4-mile (7K) Recovery Walk/Run fundraiser
There are two components of our event;
1.) Walk = a free event , anyone can walk. Participants can register online ( https://runsignup.com/recoverywalk) OR at the "registration booth" at the church or starting line after 5PM on the day of the event. If they register online, they are electronically signing the waiver to freely "walk" the course AND must purchase a t-shirt for $20. T-shirts will be ordered on Aug 15th, we need t-shirt sizes by Aug 14th
2.) Run = A "timed" run managed by Race Day Timing Solutions. Runners must register online ( https://runsignup.com/recoverywalk) and pay $30, on August 1st the price goes to $35. The price includes a "race bib with chip", and an event t-shirt. In order to guarantee a t-shirt, runners must register by August 14th.
This annual walk/run is the main fundraising effort for the Life Issues Addiction Recovery Ministry. Please help us reach our goal of $16,000 by getting a pledge form and asking your friends & family to help sponsor the event. If you get $100 or more in pledges, you will receive a FREE Recovery Walk t-shirt.
You do not need to actually walk or run the course in order to get pledges from friends & family. Simply ask them to show their support of Life Issues by financially sponsoring the event. Pledge forms can be obtained from Steve Fleshman, or any other Life Issues leader. In mid-August, Life Issues will have a table in the lobby with event information and additional pledge forms.
Participant check-in and packet pick-up will begin at 5 PM on Friday August 30th at Heartland Baptist Fellowship. Parking is free and will be clearly marked in the church parking lot. This is a family friendly event! Un-timed walkers are FREE to participate.
All participants will board buses and shuttles (provided by the event coordinators) and be transported to the starting line – the Cass County Justice Center parking lot. The starting line area will have water, restrooms, trash receptacles, and an information booth with event staff. The race will begin promptly at 6:30 PM.
The 4.4-mile (7K) course is well marked and has 4 water stations, a nurse’s station with restrooms, and various cheer stations staffed with event volunteers.
The finish line is located at the Heartland Baptist Fellowship parking lot – the same parking lot where the participants parked.
- As participants cross the finish line, they are invited to attend the festivities inside the church.
- Free meal (smoked meat, sides, dessert, and drinks)
- Visit information booths for area resources
- Enter for raffle prizes
- Face painting & bounce houses for the children
- Hear encouraging testimonies from Life Issues members
- Awards ceremony – awards will be presented to the:
1st place male
1st place female
Participants can choose to eitherP:
1.) Walk, jog, or run the course for FREE !
