Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Psalms 85:10-11

In scripture, the word "spring" is a lively and positive word for the most part. Whether the word is used as a verb or an adjective it is abounding with life as it describes the quickening that comes forth from a variety of things. The movement of people and the bursting forth of water as it flows from the earth and springing forth of plant life are all illuminated by the word "spring". That is why we use it to describe "Spring" time. Life springs forth out of the earth.

While we are speaking of the word “spring”, March 12 will be the day to set our clocks forward one hour for Daylight Savings as we spring forth an hour. That may be a negative connotation of the word “spring” since it could disrupt your sleep that night. Don’t be discouraged as the day’s grow longer you will hardly note the difference in schedule. Please make sure to set you clocks that day because you won’t want to miss what the Lord has for you at HBF!

As we march into March we look forward to the change of weather, the start of spring sports and of course "Spring Break." Winter, for the most part, is over and we begin to prepare for the new life of spring. For some of us that means preparing for spring cleaning and garage sales for others that means getting the lawn equipment ready for another season of mowing, trimming, cutting and digging. Our Lord willing, there will be much needed spring showers that wash away the salt and sand left from winter and usher in the new life of Spring.

As we bound into March, please pray for the preparations for our 2017 "Invest" Vision Conference. There will be a lot of work going on this month to prepare for the Conference and everyone is welcome and wanted to participate. From décor for the sanctuary to decorations for the Elementary wing there will be a lot going on in preparation for this year's conference. Please pray for the team from Maple City Baptist Church in Monmouth, Ill. They are once again serving us through ministry to our children so every member of HBF can make every session of our Vision Conference April 2-5, 2017. Please see Jason McGuire if you are interested in helping with this project. You can call the office at 816.380.3033 for contact information.

If you are reading this article and the life and light of Christ seems elusive we want to encourage you in the scripture. The Bible tells us that “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 God has a plan for the universe, this earth and your life and long before you were born God supplied our need. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 Please contact us at Contact@hbfcass.org and we will contact you personally to help explain more fully how you can receive the gift of eternal life.
