It's Been Too Long

It has been almost three weeks since I have made and entry into the Blog! A lot happens in a few weeks. Since my last entry, our London prayer TEAM has returned from their visit of Brian and Mindy Clark. The team had a wonderful trip. The team was stretched by some of the outreach events Brian had planned for us. It was a life changing experience for many on the trip. We look forward to seeing the church in Chislehurst continue to grow.

With all the holiday cheer there have been some disappointments. My beloved Fort Osage Indians fell in defeat to the Belton Pirates. Belton may only be 12 miles away, but my heart is still with my Indians. Ok, enough mourning. The flip side is my adopted home town of Harrisonville does have another state champion in our Wildcats! It is so funny how we humans can get so wrapped up in sporting events. I won’t even get into the MU/KU/OU business. Years ago there used to be a sports personality on the AM dial who used to conclude his very opinionated sports talk show with a very wise saying. Super Fan Ed Beeler would always say, “In the department store of life, sports is the toy department”. Never have truer words been said.

On to more eternal issues. God is just good! We have seen more people at HBF sharing their faith in the natural course of their life with huge results! Sunday we saw another soul saved and several who have recently received Christ commit to believers baptism! Praise God for fruit! I pray that it remains. I am told we had are largest Sunday service yet. I pray that our influence for Christ grows along with our numerical growth too. Last Sunday night we had a Christmas musical that was absolutely excellent. My hat is off to all who participated, it was outstanding!

If you are a friend of HBF and care to pray for us simple pray that we are good stewards with the spiritual, human and material resources God has provided us. You may also pray that God continues to keep and sharpen our focus on the mark. It is my sincere desire that we are not distracted from the high calling of Christ Jesus!

It is my sincere prayer this holiday season that we remember the gift of eternal life delivered to us through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Timothy 1:15

This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
